Image hosted by Photobucket.comI just read Miko's testimonial for me in friendster a few days ago when the dear girl decided it's about time she join friendster. It all started when she wanted to look up a friend of hers in friendster and she borrowed my account to do so, then she started browsing through everyone's profile's and stuff (including handsome guys) and the next day she started a friendster account sure enough... Back to my comments on her testi, I just felt it was one of the sweetest thing a best friend could write and it really touched my heart. Josh, one of Longy's housemate also wrote me a testi when I jokingly told him I was angry that he wrote one for Longy and Len but not for me. He immediatly wrote me one the night he came back from the Mt. Hotham trip, poor guy, thought I was really angry with him, but I'm sure he know Im only teasing him. But his testi anyway was a sweet and funny one too. The next night, Miko engaged a team of make-up artists and hairdressers to help her with her make over for her friendster photo shot. Felicia did her make-up and hair for her while I did her eye brows and took the photos. She said I was like a demanding photographer, but hey it was all good.. yeah... The final creation above with some photoshop touch up...

Yess, I write articles and I'm good at it too; When it's the right time and I have the mood and when inspirations just flow. My mum used to say I'm a Jack of all trades and I continue the sentence by saying, "and a master of some". I used to and still get funny stares from people in the EMIT team when they ask me what course I'm studying. Well, you see, it doesn't mean only Arts Students can be interested in writing and publications stuff right? And anyway, layout and editing are both done with computers too. So the EMIT Uni newspaper came out last friday and the first thing I did when I got the paper was to flick thorough to find my article. This isn't meant to be a brag or tell-off session about my contributions, but its just the feeling of the sense of satisfaction you get when your story actually gets published. Naturally all people are born selfish. I was touched that one of my friends, Noor actually appreciated my article on Permanent Residency in australia and she told me it was a good article in MSN and it brought a sense of closeness to her. Of course, this kind gesture is so much better as compared to the sight of the EMIT newspapers just being thrown aside in our house...

Image hosted by Photobucket.comThe "In" craze now hitting the house is the "ebay" craze where all of the housemate became crazy shoppers overnight. I mean this thing has hit Miko, Len and I since last month and this ebay thingy is really addictive. I really mean it, once you get there, you are not leaving till you buy something. It's worse than going to the actual store because an actual store only sells a particular category of items, while ebay sells thousands and millions of stuff! And so I just bought another item yesterday, a watch, heehee... See those cute kitties above? Yeah those shots were taken just outside South 6, "Aren't they cute"? But then again I'm a biased person because "a dog" definitely love dogs better. Dobbie belongs to Alicia and we "borrowed" him for the day. When he went home that night, all of us missed him so much... Yess, I still keep to my point in that the first place I'm going if I get my PR here in OZ is to the petshop! *huggies, dobbie...*

Image hosted by Photobucket.comSometimes it makes me feel writing a post on my blog is like doing a report writing assignment. I have to ponder awhile before I can actually start because it takes a few minutes to recap whatever happened in the past few days. Len's been asking me, "Mel, have you updated your blog?" And I was like, "Yeah I will.. Soon.." So last Saturday we made another day trip down Melbourne and the main purpose was that Lily and Miko had finished their assignments for that week and wanted to take a break and as for me, I wanted to go shopping! To be able to walk into shops, looking and trying out clothes and going off in bags is one of the best feelings any girl would get. Supposingly it was Darling's idea of a last trip down Melbourne before exams, but I thought so otherwise, knowing him. And I was right because he wants to head down Melbourne again this weekend for another day trip to his main place of interest: Crown. He's having the urge again after winning a couple of bucks last week and I thought Yeah fair enough, let him go try his luck one more time before exams...

Image hosted by Photobucket.comJust 2 days ago I had my hair bleached by Len cause she had some extra bleach after doing Tim's hair, so I might as well did mine too. Then the day after she coloured my hair for me. Darn, it was supposed to be called Vixen Violet or something, but I don't see much on my hair at all. Joyce's hair is now pink, blond and I don't know what else, but she opted for an extra streak of violet too. Anyway, it's Denise's birthday today and this afternoon I gave her a call just to send my wishes and have a little chat with her. It was just a awhile after her lunch time and lucky she was free cause it was office hours by the way. It's funny how long ago I sent her present and it hasn't reached yet and she was saying yeah cause it's from Pooh, so it might take a little longer.. haha.. very funny.. Glad to know she's fine and put on abit of weight, and I miss her too... =( So one of my best friends here has started a blog as well. And its not surprising after all, it's free on Friendster anyway. But I realised her posts mostly contain phrases and quotes and everything runs in riddles. It's fine with me cause I know sometimes when you have too many troubled stuff on your mind and you can't just spurt everything out bluntly, the only thing you can do is to write them in a circle and leave people to derive the meanings for themselves. I do that too on my blog sometimes because some things are just too sensitive to mention in bold words.

I just found out recently that a Bachelor Degree and a Honours Degree are different and I have to attend two graduation ceremonies! I mean it sounds so absurb because I always thought that Honours was an extension to the current degree... Anyway the weeks are really passing by quickly and after attending the EMIT meeting yesterday, I gotta know that the next issue of EMIT Gippsland is coming out this friday or next Monday. I can't wait to see how my article is laid out in this issue cause I was supposed to help out but didn't turn up due to some last minute stuff. Today is also Michael's birthday. He's Helen's husband and sort of like my God-pa too. I felt so guilty I actually forgot his birthday but luckily I decide to bake some muffins this evening and so I dropped by their house with longy just now to take it to them. Okie, I'm writing off soon cause darling's having insomnia and singin to himself again... "Pe kak - Ah Choo" = Bird Flu according to him and he's singin itsy bitsy spider now too... (O_O)

Image hosted by Photobucket.comTuesday was the funeral mass for dear Muriel nana. She was a sweet old lady who did lotsa of volunteer work and one of the RCIA members during my time as a catechumen last year learning the catholic faith. She doted on me like she did to anyone and I'll always remember her cheerful smile and warm hugs everytime we said goodbye at the church. Helen called me to inform me last Saturday that she had passed away the day before. It was all so sudden... Yeah we knew she had a tumour the size of an orange in her brain and the operation to remove it was a successful one. We all thought she was a strong lady and nothing could beat her. But, who would have expect her lungs to get infection after that and her kidney's just failed thereafter... Her passing on came as a shock to all of us including many at the church. Everyone was in startled when Father announced it at church last Sat mass... But, it's good to know she's finally rid of suffering and is now in Heaven with the Lord. Say a prayer for her...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com Back to the usual uni stuff... I hate to spoil everyone's mood, but time passes so fast that in less than a month it's exams time. And I hate to remind myself that I haven't done much for my project yet, considering that it composes of 2 modules each sem. So I finally sat down in the Honours lab doing my readings for 3 hours yesterday and started procrastinating again today. I was talking to my mum last night and she started asking me, "So how's your thesis going on?" I was like, "Yeah its okay, Im still trying to understand what my supervisor is writing in his PhD thesis that Im reading now"... and still trying to finish.. But ah well, as you can see, Im not the only one still taking things easy... Caught Miko playing Len's PSP and she's still at it now... Mum also asked if Longy was still eating as much and I said yes as well... Anyway out of a sudden, Longy decided to take part in a Badminton match in which he is going to be playing tonight. We'll be there to cheer him on and hopefully he doesn't get his arse whooped already in the first round.. Good Luck Hon..

I wish I could read the lyrics of songs instead of technical papers,
I wish understanding math equations were as easy as understanding song lyrics,
I wish memorising technical terms were as easy as memorising my favourite songs,
I wish presentations were as easy as me singing my favourite songs,

I wish, I wish, I wish... Yeah that would be a dream... Hahaha... I fantasizing too much...

JoEwiZ'S bRoThEr'S biRtHdAy, mY LoNg-aWAitEd pAcKaGe fRoM mY pArEnts & hErE cOmE'S aNoThEr aNnoYiNg tWat...

Image hosted by Photobucket.comYesterday was Joewiz's brother's birthday and we had a potluck at Joewiz's place. We had chicken curry, fried veggies and keropok by Joewiz and fried beehoon, nuggets and red bean soup from me. Joewiz baked a lovely and delicious white chocolate cake for her brother as well and man, it was from scratch! I reckon I would just mess up the whole kitchen only, if I ever made any cakes or pastrys from scratch; just like I did when I made rock buns ages ago for my family during my secondary school days when Home Economics taught in school gave you the urge to try out baking at home, haha.. =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.comJust received my "long-lost" parcel from my parents today. My dad accidently sent it through Ship cargo instead of by air 2 months ago and so it only reached now. I was so touched by the birthday card they wrote for me that tears started rolling down my cheeks and darling came in shocked, asking me what happened with a worried face. Then you must be thinking its so silly to put up pictures of balloons here when it's such a common thingy. But don't call me "kiasu" or what, I have only seen metallic coloured balloons here in aust... Len's got her's in red, pearl white and yellow. Kahn's a pretty cool student in our uni who is a superb DJ Mixer and he's always called to DJ for most people's R&B parties and sometimes at the Saloon as well. Hope he had a great party that night... Oh, I can't wait to talk to my mum tonight and tell her about how much I love the gifts, but before that, one little note to:

Ms. Oranje: It's okay if your life sucks or it's so boring that you wanna come idolize my blog. So what if you think my english is atrocious? I never said it was perfect anyway and NO ONE pinned you down with a knife forcing you to come read it. So piss off because the Tag Board is meant for communicating with my buddies and friends only!

sHoPpiNg aNyoNe? gOoD NeWs oR wHaT? pUpPieS u WiSh u CoULd bRiNg hOmE & cUdDLe pLuS JoYcE's BdAy...

Today's post seemed more like a Sales Catalogue with all the details and prices of stuff on the pictures. We just came back from Traralgon awhile ago because Longy was on the craze of Charcoal chicken again. I was writing small notes on his PDA for my blog because I know by the time I actually get home, turn my com, get online to create a new post, I most probably get lost lost for words already. *sign* It really would have helped more if his PDA didn't keep having the auto screen saver going off while I am slowly trying to refer to it while blogging now...

A week ago, I was browsing through one of the blogs that won the "Best Asian Blog" awards for 2001 or 2002 I can't remember. It's http://xiaxue.blogspot.com/ and I have been to her blog to read it a few times and found her posts to be really corny sometimes, but funny as well. She bitches about her daily life and the people that revolve around her. If you're in for a good laugh or two, it's fine, though after awhile it gets a little unbearable with all those singlish in it sometimes. Yeah, no rewards for guessing where she's from. No offences but you can most often tell where people hail from sometimes: Malaysia with their mix of canto-broken-english and Singapore with their singlish. Haha, I used to speak singlish too, until I met my "Banana" BF here who speaks with an aussie accent... Met Samantha and Stacey in the uni's cafe sometime this week and we had a little chat, and I was tempted to take a photo of Samantha's handsome "son" ages ago. So here's his photo below. Image hosted by Photobucket.comAnyway, we get back to the week's highlight-> Joyce's birthday on thursday, 7 May. It was a join party with a guy named Charles held at the West Rec Hall on Rez. We kinda thought there wasn't gonna be enough food for everyone so we had something before we went and it turned out the pizza was more than enough and Len, Longy and I actually regretted having some Fried Noodles before that. But they stuffed themselves with more pizza anyway and I only took one cause my stomach couldn't fit anymore. Then there was space needed to be saved for her Michel's Caramel chocolate birthday cake.. hmmn.. *yumyum*. So "Hashboy" was there at the party too. He was some weird asian guy who turned up at Tim's bday party as well and no one knew who he was. He name so prevails because of the incident during Tim's party where he asked what was inside the choco cookies and when Longy told him it was hash, he went, "Omigod! There's weed in my cookie, I'm going to die"! And he went plop on the grass thereafter. **lol** We guess that was just psycological effect..

Image hosted by Photobucket.comAnother thing was that I don't know if it can be considered a good news, but yeah I got awarded the Scholarship from my IT faculty. I don't know if it was a case of silly mistake of what, but I actually applied for another Victorian's Women Scholarship or something and I overlooked the part that says, "send 5 copies of your application" and it turned out that my SINGLE copy of application was withdrawn and sent back. Else, I might have stand a chance in and extra scholarship and plus part-time job means yap, more money left for shopping! Yesterday, the 4 of us went Midvalley for a walk again and Len and I just couldn't take our eyes off the cute puppies at the pet shop. Darn we were so tempted to get one back so many times and they were only $295. We were there ogling and playing with them for 5-10mins... If only they allowed sweet, cute and lovable dogs on rez, how cool would that be, with people walking their dogs round here every evening and the vast variety of breeds we can get to see. I promise myself that IF I do get my PR, there first place I'm going is to a pet shop! yess... *hee..hee*

Image hosted by Photobucket.comOh yeah, not to forget about the time Len and I went applying for a student credit card at Commonwealth Bank. Damn, they have the worse service ever and we spent almost an hour waiting like fools while they take their own sweet time processing. You know it was like the common bank in e.g. M'sia-MayBank and S'pore-DBS. But I reckon the DBS bank in S'pore has most efficient service as compared and I would have gone up straight to the commbank counter and asked to close down my acct. and start up with ANZ had it not been the only bank having student credit cards. Oh and yesterday too, for the first time Len and Longy decided to join Joewiz and I for a swim at the Churchill Leisure Centre, the usual place Joewiz and I go. I should have kept my mouth shut about having a race with darling, even given a head start he bloody overshot me and was at the finish line even before I reached the 3rd quarter. *darn* Len was just waddling in the pool with Tim, because that girl only knows how to float and dunno how to swim.. a "HuGe" LiTtLe aRgUMenT WiF dArLing, aNotHEr aSsmt dOwn, mELbOuRnE tRiP tO aMbER, pLuS sHopPinG & cRowN...

Got rid of another boring weekend on campus and went down Melbourne on Fri coz darling wanted to send his car to his family friend in Glen Waverly for a check up. Managed to finish the data mining assignment 2 earlier and handed in before we left so I could enjoy the trip knowing one thing's off my mind. But I was supposed to meet up with my lecturer to discuss about the source codes for the project on Fri morning but he had a meeting, so it's postponed till Mon. Darn after so much reading into my project of Image Retrieval based on Colour Histograms, now he comes and tell me that I should change to Image Retrieval based on Shape Contours instead. Sound complicating? Yeah I don't understand half of the papers I was reading as well anyway. And as I was just getting the hang of the first topic when now I have to start re-absorbing something else again... It was just not so good a week too as darling and I got into quarrel about the accomodation stuff on where to stay when we were down in Melbourne. We got it sorted out anyway in the end but we are actually sick and tired of always having to be the ones to settle everything little thing.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com So we reached Melbourne at about 6pm when he was supposed to send sexy-H to the guy at about 5.30pm. He made the mistake of trusting that someone would give him a lift back from Glen after he dropped his car as he wanted us gals to wait at the service apartment first. Then again it was some wrong planning when we all should have headed straight to settle his car first. For the first time he was really pissed off and was in a really foul mood in the car, but Im glad I followed him coz I didn't want him to have to go through a bad day by himself. When we finally met up with the rest, had dinner and returned 'home', it was already about 9.30pm plus and we were comtemplating to go Amber or not when it was decided it would be a "Girl's Night". So the 3 of us went to Amber while the boys went to Crown instead. No prizes for guessing to do what there; Its Roulette and nothing else... Some "Wat tat" guy tried to hit on every gal on the dance floor and Joewuz gt a shock when he rubbed his hands on her waist as she danced. She quickly moved on to Len and when that maniac started heading my way, I was saying, "Len, help" when she came hug my waist and dance to shake that guy off. Nothing much to see that night, lotsa pretty gals and lotsa short yucky guys... I reckon having eyes on my darling is still the best.. haha..

Image hosted by Photobucket.comWe had to drag ourselves outta bed the next day at 10am and we barely slept like for 3 to 4 hours only. But it turned out all worthwhile when we headed down to Shark's Fin House, a famous Yum Cha dim sum restaurant in Bourke Street. Darn, you had to queue out outside even before the restaurant opened at 11.30am. Timmy learnt to appreciate and even liked the food there as well. For the first time, he tried chicken feet, haha.. And Len's so afraid of the giant fried squids because of their tentacles. The food was awesome and really great, we ate so much stuff and the bill was still quite reasonably priced at $77, which meant it costs each of us like $15 bucks each. Later we headed to the Asian Grocery store to get more foodstuff and then to Vic Mart for some shopping. I managed to get my Mother's Day present and Dad's birthday present, which was one of the main purpose in going down to the city. Not gonna mentioned what I bought coz its gonna be a surprise for them and mummy + daddy dearest sometimes come check out my blog. So the gifts are something my mum would really like and for daddy-o, something he can wear... Aww.. never mind mummy knows what I got for him anyway coz I had to call her up and confirm the size.. heehee... Then we went back to Crown cause it was now us gals turn to try our luck. Darling's high school friend called Tim as well met up with us as well and he won some $ at Baccarat, Joewiz at Black Jack, while the rest of us stucked to our Roulette. We later wanted to have dinner at the Hong Kong restaurant in Glen Waverly called Rock Kung, but it was bloody packed, so we settled for Pancakes instead which really caused us to feel sick coz of its sweetness. So we just had to take-away "Char siew and Siew Yok" home still and lucky I managed to drag myself outta bed for church this morning. So another quick weekend gone and another boring uni week coming... (^.^)
