Happy Chinese New Year 2007

Okay, it's a little late for well wishes, but hey, lunar new year lasts for 20 days right? So here's wishing all my family and friends who are all the way back in Malaysia and Singapore:

Happy Lunar New Year!
Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Chinese New Year 2007
We had our own chinese new year gathering at Lyell's house on CNY day 1. From left is Tubbs, me, Eileen, Ying, Ellen, (Forgot his name), Weiwei and Eric. Front row: Nancy, Weiwei's mum and my mum. Eileen is a new student from singapore and she's like a little sister to us, very chirpy and friendly girl. We had loads to eat as you can see and as usual we did not finish the food again. Then we played Pictionary as well, it was more of like a "shouting" match than guessing game. But it was still fun. ;) Then on day 2, we dressed Jasper up in his CNY outfit, but it was pretty hard to get it on that little fatso. *sigh*

Well, the gathering was good, but I still miss spending chinese new year back home in Malaysia/Singapore. Yes, the ang baos might be one thing, but the other important thing is being able to gather with family members and have lunch or dinner together. It's the time of the year where differences are put apart and everyone just gets down to eating, enjoying themselves and for some, gambling. I was pretty sure Chinatown in Melbourne was quite happening with the parade as well, but somehow the true atmosphere still cannot be truly felt here. If circumstances permit, I wanna spend the next chinese new year back home, home where the true spirit of chinese new year can be experienced. =)

My V-Day Pressie - Yoshi's Island DS and Planning to go Bendigo!

Currently playing Yoshi's Island DS . Twas the game darling got me for my V-day pressie. The funny part was that this is the first time we are actually spending V-day together in the same place, but we decided not to bother making it a big hoo-ha at all. Dinners were too expensive; They were a minimum cost of $90 bucks per person in posh restaurants here, plus mummy's around and we kinda have 2 new friends who've recently join our clique and have been hanging with us for most of the time as well. :)

Anyway, yessh I'm soooo FREE that I actually had time to go to the Yoshi's Island website for a look since I'm so hooked on the game and it is one of the highest rated games (9.2!) from GameSpot. It's one of the best adventure/platformers that I've ever played and the characters are super cute! Well, I had a hard time trying to find the wallpapers because you had to explore the whole site clicking on stuff before you can "find" 'em, so I thought I'd share with people here. Sorry though, I only downloaded the (1024 x 768 px) ones. Just click on 'em and they will open to full size.

Plus, I suddenly had a crazy idea on Monday to plan a trip for mummy before she goes back home. (Actually I myself wanted a holiday also!) Well, so I decided we should go to Bendigo! A short 3D2N trip since I can't afford to take too many days leave again. So accomodation is booked, car rental TBA by tubbs; Bendigo, here we come! And Nooooo, I haven't forgotten about the shopping I've done! The cropping and editing of the clothings and accessories is on its way! ;)

The Prayer of Jabez; Asking God to bless me and enlarge my territory.

Prayer of Jabez
And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
“Oh, that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that your hand would be with me, and that you would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.”So God granted him what he requested.
I Chronicles 4:10 NKJV
Extracted from PrayerOfJabez

Usually, I'm a pretty Pro Catholic, but I do open up to other dissections of Christianity as well, especially since tubbs is a Christian and I know I wouldn't force him to convert. He follows me to my church and I in-turn, listen to his pastoral sermons on CDs together with him, a bit of a compromise here and there. :) Anyway the main topic of this post isn't about which is the "right-one". So I say to my friends, "You're christian and I'm catholic, we all believe in God, but we just believe it in a different way."And so when Aunty sent tubbs this book~ "The Prayer of Jabez", I thought I'd have a read and it turned out to be quite inspirational. The main highlight of the book was the prayer above.

And so I pray to God everyday to Bless me, Guide my Path of Life and Enlarge my Territory. Enlarge my Territory meant letting me make more friends, so that I will not be lonely. And I believe he has done so. New friends will never replace the old, but they will somehow bring a smile to your face and will someday become your "old ones" too. :) Don't worry, I still love ya loads my dear coussy's Jan, Kris, Rac, my Pooh Gang, my Chabohs, Ah Wen, Sharon and my Pal Pal S.K. You all will never be forgotten or replaced. *muah* And I miss ya all! (*o*)

More updates on Shopping, City Trip, More new neighbours and New Student Eileen comin up in the next couple of days. =)

New Music Craze, On Life back to Monotony, Cute Jay Chou, New Neighbours and I wanna sing sing sing!

Genie Zhuo Wen Xuan ~ Xi Guan

Currently Listening: Genie Zhuo 卓文宣 ~ 习惯 /Be Used To
Released: Oct 2006

No I'm not being "un-faithful" here, I'm still a loyal Jay Chou and S.H.E supporter. It's just that I'm also open to other artists, genre and type of music as well. And for some reason, this (I thought she was a newbie at first) sweet lass here happened to have the "Oh-so-famous" Liang Shan Bo and Juliet/梁山伯与茱丽叶 song which was played on the radio station, television and my friend's car so repetatively that you would have to be ignoramus not to have heard it before. So I kinda ripped of her songs from my friend's CD and I fell in love with a few of the other songs too -> Winter Orange/冬天的桔子, Long Sleeves/长衣袖, Concoting Happines/幸福调味 and Can or Not/可以不可以. You can find out more about her from ChineseMusicBlog.com

Life's been pretty much mundane since I got back from M'sia/S'pore, as expected. But luckily there are the little things in life that perk you up once awhile like when your boss suddenly comes in and tells you, "Hey, look at this ad here, it's good, I reckon we should display all your ads along the hallway of the office", when I get to go down to Melbourne city and shop, when my pal sends me the latest Jay Chou or S.H.E album, when something exciting happens in the boring place I'm in (dreaming). *Sign* I thank Ying and Serene for keeping me sane sometimes, apart from mum and tubbs. I honestly miss my friends, my "used-to-be" happening life. Anyways I finally got my lazy arse back to playing tennis yesterday evening. The new grip that tubbs put for me on my Wilson racquet definitely made playing much easier. Yeah, I wanna keep playing, at least twice a week.

Then on something more unusual, I discovered another Jay fanatic like me when I was searching for METERS/BONWE a.k.a Jay Chou endorsement. The only difference in this fan is that she blogs about his latest news on her blog in English, she only discovered Jay in June 2006 and she's a Canadian-Born chinese. And her blogging makes it easier for me to read about Jay, rather than the pesky forums that make me go "oh-so-dizzy". Needless to say, I had to steal some awesome photos of Jay from her blog (with her permission of course) and I'm so glad I made a new found friend, who's born in Canada, lives in New York and loves Jay. Cheerios to getting to know you, Doretta. :) And here's pics of adorable, handsome and talented Jay:

I also got chatting to Kal on MSN yesterday. He's gonna to be my next door neighbour next semester. And his house is gonna be one big gambling den with he and his 3 housemates all being poker addicts and yessh all 3 are guys and yessh I have already chosen nick names for them: Beach Boy, Korean Guy and Ah Beng. Well apparently "Ah Beng" is actually a very eligible bachelor, yes eligible in every way you can think of. ;p *wink* And also they wanna invite my female housemate over for dinner one day, because they think she is hot. And no, that housemate is not Sheali because she's back in Malaysia, so you all go figure.

And on a totally different matter, I think I've been listening and singing too much of Genie's songs, so much so that I wish I have a chance to sing on stage again. YES, 我想再次站在台上唱歌.。如果人生有来世, 我想在台湾出世,成为下一位最佳女歌手。
